How this site handles your information.
01 · The short version
The short version
We collect as little as we can. We do not collect your health information, and this site is not a place to enter it. We don't ask you to make an account. If you email us, we keep your email only to reply and, if you asked, to send you updates. We use basic analytics to see which pages are read. We never sell your information. The AI tools we link to are run by other companies under their own privacy policies, so be careful what you type into them — our Start here page tells you exactly what to leave out.
The rest of this page explains all of that in full. We've tried to keep it in plain language.
02 · Who we are
Who we are
patientsuse.ai ("the site," "we," "us") is operated by Gilles Frydman as an individual. For any privacy question, or to exercise any of the rights described below, write to hello@patientsuse.ai. We are the data controller for the limited information described here.
03 · What we collect
What we collect
Information you give us
If you email us, or sign up to be notified about new work, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in your message. That's the only personal information you actively give us — there are no accounts, logins, or profiles on this site.
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, when you visit, our hosting provider and analytics tools automatically receive standard technical information: your approximate location (derived from your IP address, not your precise location), your device and browser type, the pages you view, and how you arrived. We use this in aggregate to understand what's useful and to keep the site running. Details are in the Cookies & analytics section.
04 · What we don't collect
What we don't collect
We want to be unusually clear about this, because of what this site is about. We do not collect, store, or process your health information. This site does not have symptom checkers, intake forms, chat windows, or any feature that asks about your medical situation. Nothing you do here creates a medical record.
If a page ever asks you for health details, it isn't ours. Don't enter them.
We also don't sell, rent, or trade any information about you, and we don't use your information to build advertising profiles.
05 · Cookies & analytics
Cookies & analytics
We use two analytics tools to understand, in aggregate, which content people find valuable:
- Vercel Web Analytics measures page views without using cookies and without tracking you across other sites. It does not build a profile of you.
- Google Analytics helps us understand traffic and how pages are used. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes data on Google's infrastructure. You can opt out using Google's browser opt-out add-on, by blocking cookies in your browser, or by enabling "Do Not Track."
Where required by law (for example, for visitors in the European Economic Area and the UK), non-essential cookies such as Google Analytics are set only with your consent, which you can give or withhold through the cookie notice and change at any time. Essential, cookieless measurement and basic server logs are used to operate and secure the site.
06 · How we use it
How we use your information
We use the limited information we have only to: reply to your messages; send updates if you asked for them; understand which content is useful so we can improve it; keep the site secure and working; and meet legal obligations. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
07 · AI tools & links
AI tools and links to other sites
This site teaches you to use AI tools that other companies operate — ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), Gemini (Google), Meta AI, and others — and links out to them and to related projects. When you follow those links and use those tools, you leave this site and your information is handled under each company's own privacy policy, not ours. We have no access to, and no control over, what you type into them or what they do with it.
This is exactly why our Start here page tells you to share your situation but never your identity — no full name, no address, nothing that identifies you. Please read those cautions before you use any AI tool for your health.
08 · Service providers
Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted providers who process limited data on our behalf so the site can function:
- Vercel — website hosting and cookieless analytics.
- Google — Google Analytics traffic measurement.
- Our email provider — to receive and send messages and any updates you requested.
These providers may process information in the United States and elsewhere. We share only what is necessary, and we do not authorize them to use your information for their own purposes beyond providing their service to us.
09 · Your rights
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, withdraw consent, and receive a copy in portable form. If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, our legal bases for processing are your consent (for optional analytics cookies and update emails) and our legitimate interests (operating, securing, and improving the site).
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
To exercise any right, email hello@patientsuse.ai. Because we collect so little, in many cases the fastest way to be forgotten is simply to not send us your email — but if you have, we'll delete it on request. EEA/UK residents also have the right to complain to their local data protection authority.
10 · International users
International users
This site is operated from the United States, and the providers we use process data in the United States and other countries. If you visit from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be handled in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those where you live. We rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the standard contractual clauses offered by our providers, where required.
11 · Retention
How long we keep things
We keep your email and messages only as long as needed to reply, to send updates you asked for, or to meet a legal obligation — and we delete them on request. Aggregate analytics are retained for a limited period in line with our providers' standard settings, after which they are deleted or fully anonymized.
12 · Children
Children's privacy
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Caregivers, of course, are welcome here — the site is built with them in mind.
13 · Security
Security
The site is served over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and we keep the information we hold to a minimum, which is itself the strongest protection. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but because we collect so little, there is very little about you for anything to go wrong with.
14 · Changes
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will make the update clear. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
