Terms of Service

Terms of Service.

The rules for using this site — and the one that matters most, up top.

This site is not medical advice, and it is not a doctor. It is for information and education only. If you have a medical emergency — chest pain, trouble breathing, sudden weakness or trouble speaking, severe bleeding, a serious allergic reaction, or thoughts of harming yourself — contact your local emergency services or get to a person who can help, right now. Do not wait, and do not rely on this site or on any AI tool.

The full terms follow.

02 · Acceptance

Accepting these terms

By using patientsuse.ai ("the site"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. The site is operated by Gilles Frydman as an individual ("we," "us").

03 · Not medical advice

The site is not medical advice

The content on this site is provided for general information and education only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for the judgment of a qualified health professional. Reading this site does not create a doctor-patient relationship or any other professional relationship between you and us.

This site exists to help people use AI to understand their own health with better judgment — especially people who cannot easily reach care. That mission does not change the basic rule: learning carries little risk; acting carries real risk. Before you act on anything you learn here or from an AI tool — starting, stopping, or changing a medication, taking a substance, delaying care you could get, or trying a treatment — consult a qualified professional whenever you can. Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read here.

Nothing here is legal or financial advice either. Where the site discusses insurance appeals or bills, that too is general information, not legal advice.

04 · What the site is

What the site is

patientsuse.ai publishes writing, guides, ready-made message templates, and analysis about patients using AI for their own health. It links to external tools and projects. It is an information resource and a movement's home — not a healthcare provider, not a software product that processes your medical data, and not a marketplace. Features described as "in preparation" may change or may not be released.

05 · Third-party AI & links

Third-party AI tools and links

The site teaches you to use, and links to, AI tools and websites operated by other companies — including ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), Gemini (Google), and Meta AI, among others. We do not own, control, or endorse those services, and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, terms, pricing, or how they handle your data. Your use of any third-party tool is governed by that company's own terms and privacy policy, and is between you and them.

AI tools can be confidently wrong. The methods we teach — questioning the answer, checking it against a second tool, and separating understanding from action — exist precisely because of that. You are responsible for the decisions you make.

06 · Acceptable use

Acceptable use

You agree to use the site lawfully and not to: misuse or disrupt the site or its infrastructure; attempt to gain unauthorized access; scrape or harvest content in a way that burdens the service or violates the license below; impersonate others; or use the site to harm anyone. You may not present the site's content as a substitute for professional care to others, or in a way that strips required disclaimers.

07 · Content & reuse

Content, copyright, and reuse

Except where noted otherwise, the original written content of this site is made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. You are free to share and adapt it, including for commercial purposes, as long as you give appropriate credit to patientsuse.ai, link to the license, and indicate any changes. This fits the spirit of the work: the movement belongs to no one, and the ideas are meant to travel.

Some things are not ours to license. The named frameworks and instruments referenced on the site (such as CAIHL, CLAIM, REAL-PAIR, and others) belong to their original authors and are credited where they appear; use them according to their own terms. Third-party names, logos, and trademarks belong to their owners. Any software released in connection with the site carries its own open-source license, which governs that software.

The "#PatientsUseAI" hashtag is free for anyone to use.

08 · What you send us

What you send us

If you email us, suggest a project for the Radar, or otherwise send us material, you grant us permission to use that material to operate and improve the site and the movement — for example, to feature a patient-built project — while you keep ownership of what you created. Please don't send us confidential or sensitive personal or health information; this is not a secure channel for that, and we don't want it. Don't send material you don't have the right to share.

09 · No warranties

No warranties

The site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We work hard to be rigorous and to date and source our claims, but we do not warrant that the content is error-free, current, or suitable for your particular situation, or that the site will be uninterrupted or secure.

10 · Liability

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising out of your use of (or inability to use) the site, your reliance on its content, or your use of any third-party tool or link — including any health, medical, financial, or other decision you make. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent the law allows. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

11 · Indemnification

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Gilles Frydman from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the site, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

12 · Governing law

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Delaware will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that is not resolved informally, and you consent to venue there, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction. Before filing anything, please contact us — most issues can be resolved by email.

13 · Changes

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page, and significant changes will be made clear. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect, and these terms (with the Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between us about the site.
